It is recommended that a car receive a professional reconditioning or paint protection (wax and/or polish) once or twice a year, along with a professional car wash at least once or twice a month.

Paint is designed to reflect light, which creates a shine. Ultraviolet (UV) light affects paint and the way visible light is reflected. If your car is washed regularly and kept indoors most of the time, the shine will last for many years since there would be minimal oxidation or element damage to the finish that would stain, spot or dull the finish.
